Independent model research guide
A strong model-level review separates searchable vehicle information from proof. The useful evidence is the warranty and chronological record showing what this vehicle did, what was reported, and what the authorized facility attempted.
Recall, campaign, and repair information is often year- and VIN-specific. Use the exact vehicle identity instead of assuming every version of the model is the same.
Model-aware documentation
These are investigation prompts, not statements that the model has each problem. Select only the categories that match the actual vehicle and repair orders.
Track weak cooling or heating, odors, intermittent operation, ambient conditions, and parts or refrigerant work performed.
Photograph the location and resulting damage, note weather conditions, and preserve any leak testing or body-repair findings.
State the drive mode, load or trailer conditions, dashboard message, repeatability, and any transfer-case or axle testing.
Record the operating conditions, warning messages, speed, temperature, and whether the concern returned after repair.
Note hesitation, harsh engagement, slipping, vibration, or loss of response and the exact conditions in which it occurs.
Save photographs of warning lights, no-start events, battery replacements, diagnostic codes, and modules tested or replaced.

Model year 2025
The 2025 Sierra 1500 index includes 1 distinct safety campaign, covering airbags, belts, and seating. Owner-report entries are most numerous in engine and cooling (56) and transmission and driveline (25). 442 manufacturer communications are organized separately below so workshop instructions are not mistaken for confirmed owner failures. Start with any applicable safety instructions, then match the service documents and reported conditions to the actual repair orders.
Safety recall
The campaign addresses injury risk involving the listed component. Its applicability is limited to the affected vehicles and equipment described by Rollx Vans.
Reported condition: “Please refer to Rollx's recall report for specific model year information. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.”
Applicability in the source: Rollx Vans (Rollx) is recalling certain GMC Yukon, Sierra, Chevrolet Express 2500, Ford Transit, E-250, Toyota Sienna, Sienna Hybrid, Honda Odyssey, Chrysler Town and Country, Voyager, Pacifica, Dodge Grand Caravan, and Ram Promaster vehicles equipped with QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints.
Remedy and status excerpt: Rollx will work with Q'Straint to inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge.
A model-year match does not establish that this VIN is affected or still unrepaired. Keep the campaign number, dealer repair order, and completion date together.

Agency record · No closure date in index
The 2026 Sierra 1500 is listed in this investigation record. An investigation concerns an agency inquiry; its opening is not a final defect determination, and closure alone is not a finding that every vehicle is safe or repaired.
Agency summary excerpt: “On January 16, 2026, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Recall Query RQ26001. This investigation was opened to assess the remedy effectiveness of Recall 25V-274. ODI has received complaints alleging engine failure in vehicles after the recall remedy had …”

Repair chronology
Place the final repair orders in date and mileage order. Compare the customer complaint, technician findings, correction, and post-repair result instead of relying only on a dealer summary or online discussion.
Do not combine multiple visits into one estimate. Open and close dates, mileage, parts delays, diagnostic time, and the date the vehicle was actually available can answer different questions.
California legal framework
California Civil Code section 1793.2 addresses warranty repair obligations and, in specified circumstances, replacement or restitution after a reasonable number of repair attempts. Section 1793.22 defines the Tanner presumption and “nonconformity.” Those provisions require a fact-specific analysis.
Identify the written coverage in effect when the concern was presented.
Show when and how the manufacturer or authorized facility received the vehicle.
Document the effect on use, value, or safety rather than relying on labels.
Compare restitution, replacement, negotiated resolutions, offsets, and supporting damages.
Warranty and escalation record
A manufacturer warranty, certified coverage, dealer promise, and separately purchased service contract may have different obligors and terms. Preserve each document instead of calling all coverage an “extended warranty.”
Save every GMC dealer message, repair authorization, parts-delay explanation, manufacturer case number, and written response. A phone call may matter, but a dated email, text, or letter usually makes the sequence easier to prove.
Primary and practical sources
Clear answers
It may, but the model name alone does not decide eligibility. A review should match the exact vehicle to an applicable written warranty and examine the repair opportunities, recurring nonconformity, mileage, downtime, and effect on use, value, or safety.
There is no universal count that decides every case. California’s Tanner presumption describes specific circumstances, but claims can require a broader analysis of whether the manufacturer had a reasonable opportunity to repair the warranty problem.
No. Recall, campaign, complaint, or bulletin information may provide context, but it does not prove the condition exists in this vehicle or establish a lemon law claim. Use VIN-specific information and the actual repair record.
Keep the purchase or lease agreement, warranty booklet, every final repair order, current registration and payoff information, photographs or videos, towing and rental records, and dealer or manufacturer messages and case numbers.
Possibly. The answer depends on the transaction, vehicle history, warranty that applied, timing of the repair visits, and other facts. A used or leased vehicle should be evaluated from its own documents.
Depending on the facts and current law, possible outcomes can include restitution or repurchase, replacement, a negotiated cash resolution, warranty relief, incidental damages, or other remedies. No particular outcome is guaranteed.
