Independent model research guide
A strong model-level review separates searchable vehicle information from proof. The useful evidence is the warranty and chronological record showing what this vehicle did, what was reported, and what the authorized facility attempted.
Recall, campaign, and repair information is often year- and VIN-specific. Use the exact vehicle identity instead of assuming every version of the model is the same.
Model-aware documentation
These are investigation prompts, not statements that the model has each problem. Select only the categories that match the actual vehicle and repair orders.
Track weak cooling or heating, odors, intermittent operation, ambient conditions, and parts or refrigerant work performed.
Photograph the location and resulting damage, note weather conditions, and preserve any leak testing or body-repair findings.
Record the operating conditions, warning messages, speed, temperature, and whether the concern returned after repair.
Note hesitation, harsh engagement, slipping, vibration, or loss of response and the exact conditions in which it occurs.
Save photographs of warning lights, no-start events, battery replacements, diagnostic codes, and modules tested or replaced.
Identify update or calibration numbers, failed features, reset attempts, and whether the same symptom returned after programming.
Official safety recall records
The reviewed records separate an early fuel-pipe campaign from a later, narrowly defined oil-feed assembly issue. Use your GTB's model year to locate the relevant record, then check its VIN; the presence of a campaign does not mean every car of that year is affected.

Model year 2022
For the 2022 GTB, the reviewed campaign concerns the fuel connecting pipe's contact with the high-voltage battery cover. The practical priority is confirming whether RC 85 applies and whether its protective-pipe replacement has been completed.
Safety recall · Ferrari RC 85
Contact between the aluminum fuel connecting pipe and the high-voltage battery protective cover can allow the pipe to corrode. A resulting fuel leak can create a fire hazard if an ignition source is present. This concerns the fuel pipe alongside the hybrid battery protection, not a finding that the traction battery itself is defective.
The official report expressly includes certain 2022–2023 296 GTB vehicles. Its combined production interval runs from March 1, 2021 through April 20, 2023; that interval and the campaign population cover more than this single model year. Confirm the affected VIN with Ferrari.
Do not drive an affected, unrepaired vehicle. Affected owners are instructed not to drive the vehicle until the recall remedy is completed. Contact Ferrari for vehicle-specific instructions.
Ferrari's RC 85 repair replaces the connecting pipe with a version protected by a sleeve, without charge. The latest indexed campaign record reports that owner letters were mailed July 14, 2023. An individual vehicle's repair status must still be checked by VIN.

The 2023 GTB appears in the same fuel-pipe campaign, not the later 2025 oil-feed recall. A repair invoice and a current VIN recall check can help establish whether the RC 85 work remains outstanding on a specific car.

The 2025 GTB record is an assembly-torque issue involving the turbocharger oil-feed connection. The report identifies only four GTBs within a short July production interval, making the VIN and build information particularly important.
Safety recall · Ferrari RC 93
The nut connecting the oil filter to the turbocharger oil-feed pipes may have been tightened incorrectly. Escaping oil near a combustible source can increase fire risk. NHTSA lists this campaign under more than one engine component; those entries describe the same recall and are combined here.
The report identifies four 2025 296 GTB vehicles produced July 8–22, 2025. The six-vehicle total also includes two GTS vehicles; it is not a count of six GTBs or a finding against the full model-year lineup.
Do not drive an affected, unrepaired vehicle. Affected owners are instructed not to drive the vehicle until it has been repaired. Arrange the next steps with Ferrari before using an affected vehicle.
Under Ferrari campaign RC 93, the attachment is checked and the nut retightened as necessary at no charge. The indexed campaign update reports owner notification on November 7, 2025. That later status update differs from the prospective mailing schedule in the original report; neither establishes that a particular vehicle has been repaired.

Place the final repair orders in date and mileage order. Compare the customer complaint, technician findings, correction, and post-repair result instead of relying only on a dealer summary or online discussion.
Keep visits marked “could not duplicate,” “operating as designed,” or “no fault found.” Those entries may still show that the concern was reported and that an opportunity to inspect was provided.
California legal framework
California Civil Code section 1793.2 addresses warranty repair obligations and, in specified circumstances, replacement or restitution after a reasonable number of repair attempts. Section 1793.22 defines the Tanner presumption and “nonconformity.” Those provisions require a fact-specific analysis.
Identify the written coverage in effect when the concern was presented.
Show when and how the manufacturer or authorized facility received the vehicle.
Document the effect on use, value, or safety rather than relying on labels.
Compare restitution, replacement, negotiated resolutions, offsets, and supporting damages.
Warranty and escalation record
A manufacturer warranty, certified coverage, dealer promise, and separately purchased service contract may have different obligors and terms. Preserve each document instead of calling all coverage an “extended warranty.”
Save every Ferrari dealer message, repair authorization, parts-delay explanation, manufacturer case number, and written response. A phone call may matter, but a dated email, text, or letter usually makes the sequence easier to prove.

Clear answers
It may, but the model name alone does not decide eligibility. A review should match the exact vehicle to an applicable written warranty and examine the repair opportunities, recurring nonconformity, mileage, downtime, and effect on use, value, or safety.
There is no universal count that decides every case. California’s Tanner presumption describes specific circumstances, but claims can require a broader analysis of whether the manufacturer had a reasonable opportunity to repair the warranty problem.
No. Recall, campaign, complaint, or bulletin information may provide context, but it does not prove the condition exists in this vehicle or establish a lemon law claim. Use VIN-specific information and the actual repair record.
Keep the purchase or lease agreement, warranty booklet, every final repair order, current registration and payoff information, photographs or videos, towing and rental records, and dealer or manufacturer messages and case numbers.
Possibly. The answer depends on the transaction, vehicle history, warranty that applied, timing of the repair visits, and other facts. A used or leased vehicle should be evaluated from its own documents.
Depending on the facts and current law, possible outcomes can include restitution or repurchase, replacement, a negotiated cash resolution, warranty relief, incidental damages, or other remedies. No particular outcome is guaranteed.
